Music by Mozart, J.S.Bach, Michael Haydn, Beethoven and Schubert

The Friends of Beaminster Festival are pleased to invite you to an enjoyable and interesting afternoon concert which features Mozart’s fine Duos for violin and viola as a starting point, exploring some of the influences on their composition .The programme also includes a Duo by Michael Haydn, three of Bach’s Two Part Inventions transcribed for violin and viola, a Beethoven Duo and a very effective and dramatic arrangement of Schubert’s well-known song “Der Erlkonig”.

Diane Ludwig (violin) gained a First Class Honours degree in Music from the University of Birmingham, a Master of Music in Composition and a Master’s degree in Violin Performance.

Christian Ludwig (viola) , an Associate Professor of Metabolic Biophysics at the University of Birmingham, is an enthusiastic amateur musician who plays in string quartets and viola quartets.

Both Diane and Christian have played with orchestras all over the Midlands and in chamber music projects, regularly performing with the Johann Strauss Orchestra Wiesbaden.
