Ariel Lanyi – piano

Ariel Lanyi, the brilliant young pianist rapidly making a name for himself, performs a programme he will shortly repeat at London’s famous Wigmore Hall. As heard on BBC’s In Tune, Ariel is a great communicator.

London-based pianist Ariel was honoured to receive the 2023 Prix Serdang, a highly coveted Swiss prize awarded by the distinguished Austrian pianist Rudolf Buchbinder. In the same year, he was named as one of Classic FM’s ‘Rising Stars’. A winner at the 2021 Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT) International Auditions, that same year Ariel won 3rd prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition.

Lanyi lets the notes breathe and thus gives them back their magic. But the greatest thing about his playing is that there is always a mystery in it…Lanyi always knows how to give the listener something to take along on the way through the most subtle accentuations or through magical play of colours, so that the listener always wants more.
