Alim Beisembayev – Piano Recital

ALIM BEISEMBAYEV – FIRST PRIZE WINNER AT LEEDS INERNATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION 2021

Beaminster Festival is proud to welcome Alim Beisembayev, the overwhelmingly popular winner of the 2021 Leeds International Piano Competition, performing Rachmaninov’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra under Andrew Manze. He also took home the medici.tv Audience Prize and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society Prize for contemporary performance, with The Guardian praising him as a “worthy winner” with a “real musical personality”.

He presents a powerful and dramatic programme comprising Haydn Variations, Chopin’s Sonata No.2 which includes the famous Funeral March, and he concludes with Liszt’s virtuosic Ètudes transcendantes.  It is a tremendous privilege to see and hear this young man at the start of what promises to be a stellar career.
