Programme

Join us for a musical and storytelling exploration of the relationships and fascinating encounters between the genius that was George Gershwin and his contemporaries.

Associate Artists Lizzie Ball and James Pearson (Artistic Director at Ronnie Scott’s) take you on a journey through the musical and personal encounters of some of the great musicians and composers of the 20th Century era, focusing on Gershwin as the central connecting figure.

Alongside engaging anecdotes in the duo’s inimitable and acclaimed style, the programme will feature sensational versions of Gershwin classics – including The Man I Love and numbers from Porgy & Bess – alongside works from the Great American Songbook and a typically stunning James Pearson arrangement of highlights from Bernstein’s West Side Story.
