Programme
Morgan Szymanski will be representing Mexico at the Jose María Velasco exhibition ´A View of Mexico´ at the National Gallery in London to mark 200 years of Diplomatic relations between the UK and Mexico.
Velasco´s paintings of Mexican landscapes include images of the pyramids of Teotihuacan, the two volcanoes of the valley of Mexico, Lake Chalco, Mexico City as well as flora and fauna.
Music by Mexican composers Manuel M. Ponce and Julio César Oliva relates closely to Velasco’s landscapes and studies. Oliva’s Danzones and Mexican Sketches (dedicated to Morgan), are to be interspersed with Ponce´s arrangements of Mexican folk songs.
Expect to be immersed in a musical Mexican fiesta!
