Timothy Ridout, a BBC New Generation Artist, Borletti-Buitoni Trust fellow and recent winner of the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Young Artists’Award is one of the most sought-after violists of his generation.   Both as a soloist and a chamber musician, Tim excels particularly with his beauty of tone, his lyricism and pure musicality.  He is joined tonight by Jonathan Ware, piano, in a programme of sheer romanticism in which Clara Schumann claims her rightful place alongside her husband in pieces transcribed highly successfully for viola, together with the wonderful Franck Sonata, again seen in a new light by being played on the viola.

 PROGRAMME

  • Clara Schumann : Romances
  • Franck : Violin Sonata in A major
  • Killmayer : Die Schönheit des Morgens
  • Robert Schumann : Marchenbilder Op. 113
