BONE-AFIDE trombone quartet visits local schools

Every year the Festival arranges and helps fund a visiting group of musicians to entertain and inform young people from 6 local primary schools and Beaminster School.   Classes from Salway Ash, Sticklands, Broadwindsor, Greenford, Parrot and Axe, St. Mary’s Academy come together in two of the schools for an exciting interactive concert. The group also visits a year group in Beaminster School after they have given a public Coffee Concert in the Church so they have a very busy two days.  We have previously invited a wind quintet, a brass quintet, a string quartet and this year we welcome Bone-afide, a trombone quartet of brilliant young players at the top of their game.  The musicians will demonstrate their instruments, explain how they work, maybe give students a chance to try to blow one and play plenty of great music.

This is supported by the very excellent CAVATINA Chamber Music Trust who also provide free tickets for some of the chamber music concerts in the church for anyone between 8-25 years.

If you wish to see Bone-afide yourself, come to the Coffee Concert, Friday June 28 11.30am Details here
